It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Zoltan at his home on December 2, 2017. He is survived by his loving wife Katalin, daughter Katie-Emoke (Michaël), granddaughter Klára, sister Etelka (András), brother Tibor (Kati) and other family members. Zoltan was born in the Zala region of Hungary and came to Vancouver in the 1970s. He had a tough beginning, born during the war but he always stayed positive and looked for opportunities. After spending time in Budapest, he came to join his brother in Ontario, and then found a fulfilling career at Richmond Plywood and moved to Vancouver. He spent nice family years as a father in the royal city of New Westminster. He also had opportunities to travel, and was an avid reader who also liked to write. His passions were history and anthropology. He will be remembered for his joyous spirit and good stories. He will dearly be missed by all who knew him. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 1 PM at Our Lady of Hungary Parish, 1810 E 7th Ave, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation, we really appreciated the service we had during Zoltan’s heart surgery. Zoltan’s remains will be put to rest in Hungary in the spring of 2018.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put His arm around you and whispered “Come to me”.
