We are broken hearted to acknowledge the passing of our loving father William Vincent Welch on May 2, 2022 at the age of 85 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Theresa, and his brother John. Dad's loving and genuine kindness, towards all, will perpetually endure through his blessed family and all his exceptional friends.
Dad will be profoundly missed, by his loving daughter and son Linda (Bruce), Billy, and his grandchildren Chris and Jeff.
Dad was always happiest, when in the presence of his two beloved grandchildren, who rendered him endless feelings of both pride and fulfillment: throughout his life.
Dad will also be greatly missed, by his immensely caring sister, Mary and cousin Jim.
Uncle Bill was also very proud and delighted by all his remarkable nieces and nephews where he would love to sit and visit at Rosemary's family gatherings.
Bill had strong ties with his Italian friends and family (Joan and Joe, Uncle Charlie (Theresa’s brother) throughout his life .
Dad was a devout, practicing, Roman Catholic; who lived his life through the passages in the bible, lived life by example, and prayed for everyone he loved nightly.
Dad's favourite place besides with family was his beloved Hawaii, where he travelled 15 times during our youth. Dad famously kept a portrait of a 'natural' Hula dancer on his office wall, at the company's downtown head office for years, until Mom eventually found out about it.
The family deeply thanks Christine (and her husband Archie) for her loving care, support, and prayers with him over the final weeks of his life. It brought him so much comfort and peace near the end. We thank the nurses and doctors who cared for dad at VGH and the extremely special staff at St John Hospice who helped Dad through his final days giving him the gentle respectful care and compassion that allowed him to pass peacefully praying. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate consideration of a donation to St. John Hospice (UBC).
