It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilkins Wing-Lum Chan, age 78, on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Vancouver, BC.

Wilkins was born on November 5, 1941 in Guangdong province, China. He attended St. Paul's Co-Ed High School in Hong Kong and has since kept in close contact with his classmates. He graduated in engineering from McGill University in Montreal. After graduation, he worked in Labrador, Newfoundland as a structural engineer. It is where he met Maureen. They married in 1970 in Montreal and moved to Vancouver, BC in 1972.

Wilkins later proudly founded his own company, Wilkins Chan Engineering Ltd. successfully for many years and retired 5 years ago. He enjoyed being an active member of the local Chinese community with The Vancouver Chinatown Lions Club and The Chin Wing Chun Tong Society of Canada to this day. He was very involved with the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden and also the Chinese Cultural Centre in Vancouver. Wilkins had a great passion for music, arts, literature, Tai Chi, and Erhu music. He greatly enjoyed travelling around the world with Maureen and meeting new people.

Wilkins is the proud father of 2 children, Nicholas and Emily. He is survived by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. We are deeply saddened by his passing and cherish his love and fond memories. He forever lives in our hearts.
