Wayne, best friend and soul mate to Sharlene,

proud and loving father to Mark and Kristen,

beloved son of Billie Hennessey and step mother Elizabeth DeVries

cherished brother of Katrina Marciano, George, Gigi and Andrei Ridgeway, uncle to Alissia and Philippe Marciano and a friend of many,

is safely resting within the arms of our Lord.

Predeceased by his father George Ridgeway and step father William Hennessey.

Wayne was a man who commanded respect because of his wit, integrity and the respect he showed for others.

He was a passionate golfer, skier and squash player who pushed the limits to conquer the highest peak, get his handicap below 10 and win a C tournament.

Wayne was a professional who treated his clients as family and who coached the rookies, professing to convert all to the investment practices of his role model Warren Buffet.

With the ex cadets of Royal Roads and the Royal Military College, Wayne shared a lifelong bond and camaraderie.  Brothers one and all.  “Rarer gifts than gold.”

Wayne, the father, the coach, the mentor of his children.

Be it squash, soccer, baseball, volleyball or track he taught Mark and Kristen to aim high and accept nothing short of excellence. And they made him proud.

He believed that God’s gift to all of us is our talents and our gift to Him is what we do with them.

Sweet man. I miss your smile. I miss you.  We are a unit.

I hear you in the winds that blow, I feel you in the fallen snow

I see you in the stars at night

I reach to you that bird in flight

Rest now my love; no longer do you need to fight

Prayers will be offered at 8pm, Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 2028 W 7th Ave, Vancouver, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 25 at 11 am.  Rev. John Brioux O.M.I. celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne’s memory for the construction of the new elementary school
