It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Romanko announce his passing on Sunday December 19, 2021. He passed peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock BC. Walter was born to Steve and Mary Romanko on April 18, 1932, in Alvena, Saskatchewan where he spent his early years. He attended the University of Saskatchewan to study Science and Business Administration and graduated as a pharmacist. Walter met his wife of 61 years, Cecile, through the youth group at St. Peter and Paul’s Ukrainian Church in Saskatoon. Walter practiced pharmacy for 20 years, building several independent drug stores and raising a family, before retiring to pursue other business interests. Walter and family moved to South Surrey BC in 1979 where

he was able to enjoy the many passions by which we remember him - golf, investing, and time with his family. Walter is survived by his wife Cecile, daughter Darci Smart (Jay Pankratz), son Dale, grandchildren Jessy, Brennan, Charlotte and Chloe. He was predeceased by daughter Wendy, brothers Orest (Emily) and Ed, sister-in-law Ellie Nundal (Don).
