It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Walter Simon. Husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all that loved and cared for him. Walter is survived by his most loving and caring wife Irma, daughters Caroline and Teresa and his son Gordon and daughter-in-law Carol, and their two beautiful daughters Alysia and Jaclyn.

Walter was born in Vienna, Austria and was the only child of Karl and Therese (Resi). He was a man who was an adventurer, leaving Europe in his late teens to travel the world. As he worked his way across Canada, he met Irma and the adventurer took a new direction as they started their family and settled down in Richmond. Married in 1956, they recently celebrated 61 years of marriage. Though Walter was a very independent man, he very much cared for his family and in particular, loved celebrating birthdays. He also very much loved his solitude, often found reading a book, magazine or honestly any reading material within his reach. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
