Walter passed away peacefully Dec. 8, 2017 at the age of 86 at Laurel Place Hospice in Surrey. He was born in Winnipeg, MB to William Krushel and Alma (Mielke) and had two brothers Arthur & Alvin. He moved his family to Calgary in 1973 before moving further west to Vancouver in 1988. Dad was a talented singer and musician - able to teach himself to play any instrument and had a remarkable vocal range. He was always sorry that he missed playing baseball as a child, but his mom was afraid he'd hurt his fingers and not be able to practice piano.  He made up for it with his dedicated watching of hockey and football. He worked in accounting and later sales, retiring from Sears. He was active in his faith teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, leading the church band and playing the pipe organ. He loved telling us all about the newest things and places he had discovered whenever he moved and as our tour guide, he's once again gone ahead and is checking things out. Dad leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Myrna (Whitehead), 3 children Charlene (Dave), Rosemary (Jim) and Greg (Rhonda), 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
