It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved papa, Vincenzo Morabito.
He entered eternal life peacefully on July 30, 2023, at Burnaby General Hospital at the age of 81. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Antonietta, his children Maria Teresa (Mike), Gianni (Teresa), and six grandchildren, Ellysia, Jack, Ava, Tiama, Chiara and Joshua, brothers Salvatore (Rosetta), Bruno (Carmela), sister-in-law Maria, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Gianni and Maria as well as brothers, Domenico, Enrico, and Francesco Giuseppe.
He was born in San Nicola d’Ardore, Reggio Calabria, Italy. In 1962, our pops along with his brother Salvatore embarked on a ship in Italy to Halifax and travelled across Canada to Vancouver without a word of English. He married his love, Antonietta in 1972 and raised two children. He worked for the City of Vancouver as a labourer for almost 30 years until his retirement in 2001. Following his retirement, he spent most of his time enjoying and celebrating his family, traveling and tending to his fruit trees and vegetable garden. Pops was loving, strong, hardworking, and adventurous. He played with us, prayed with us, showed up for us, was proud of us and above all, loved us unconditionally.
His unmatched positivity, bountiful kindness and patience and endless generosity will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Pops will be remembered by all as a gentle soul who was always happy, never had an unkind word to say and for entertaining the family by playing his accordion. He was generous to a fault and put his family above all else. Papa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on August 10, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Kearney Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4715 Hastings St. Burnaby.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver on August 11, 2023 at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby.
