It is with heavy hearts, that the family announces the passing of Vengezo (Jim) Jacoboni who passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at the age of 93 years old. Born in Vancouver, BC, Jim was an East End resident for over 80 years. 

Jim was the beloved husband to Betty (Elizabeth) for 50 years till her passing in 2003. Jim worked many jobs as a young boy, delivering papers during the depression working in the Fish n Chip stand at Stanley Park, and working at the Vancouver Club. Jim's interest in trains led him to a 35-year career with the Canadian Pacific Railway. Jim was a familiar figure at Hasting Park Racetrack where he trained and owned thoroughbred horses. Jim will always be remembered for his infectious smile, generosity, his stories about the good old days in the East End, his knowledge of every topic known to man, and his uncanny ability to win almost every crib game he ever played. Later in life, Jim became a staple of The Port Moody Seniors Gathering Place, (The Club). 

Jim is survived by his family, daughter Darlene Kasuya (Ken), son Jim Jacoboni (Sonia), 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Bryan, Tanya, Michael, and Kristopher, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Anne, in Kamloops, many nieces and nephews and his lovely friend Margaret. 

Service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at Kearney Burnaby Chapel, 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. at 11:00 am.
