Valerie Forward March 26, 1968 - January 31, 2015 Valerie Forward, 46, of Vancouver died Saturday, January 31st, after a four-year battle with ovarian cancer. Born March 26, 1968 in Montreal, Quebec, Valerie was born the first child to Judy Thomson and Nelson Forward. Val graduated from Hillside Secondary School, West Vancouver, in 1986. Although relatively short, Valerie's career was long in experience and accomplishments. Between 1986 and 2014, Val held roles with increasing scope and responsibility for Roseway Travel, B.C. Trade, Intrawest, Playground, Kor Group and Colliers International. Val was known for her tireless efforts, her commitment and loyalty. She worked, primarily in real estate and resort ownership, in a number of roles across marketing and operational functions, including those as Co-ordinator, Manager, and Director. Val finished her career as Vice President, Operations for Colliers International. Val loved to work hard and she loved to travel. She was fortunate to have a career that allowed for both. Her other passions included time spent with friends and any opportunity she could find to be with her niece and nephew. Val is survived by her parents in Vancouver: Nelson Forward and Judy Thomson; her step-mother Jean Forward; her sister and family in Burlington, Ontario: Lynn Leitch (Forward), brother-in-law Kelly Leitch, niece Stephie Leitch and nephew Tom Leitch. In lieu of flowers, Val asked that you consider making a donation to a charity of your choice. Your memories of Val are welcomed by the family.
