It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ursula Helene Huber. She passed away peacefully after her final fight with cancer on March 18, 2023 at the age of 85.
Ursula is pre-deceased by her husband, Hans Adalbert Huber and survived by her four children Vincent (Nancy), Frank (Shirley), Pamela (J.P.) and Patricia, as well as her beloved grandchildren Ryan, Ashcon, Serina, Katie, Alexandra and Emma. In Germany she is survived by her two remaining siblings Gerold and Guisella along with many nieces and nephews in both countries.
Ursula, along with her husband and her two sons Vincent and Frank, were the first generation of our family to leave Germany searching back to the 1700's. In 1965, they left Oldenburg, Germany and headed for Canada by freightliner settling first in Montreal and then in Scarborough, Ontario where she gave birth to her daughters Pamela and Patricia who were now the first generation Canadians! As the seasons were either too hot or too cold, they decided to move West to their final settling destination of Horseshoe Bay, British Columbia where they raised all their children.
Ursula was a respected life employee of CIBC where she was a Loans Officer helping those trying to get ahead in life like she did in Canada. She started in a small branch in Horseshoe Bay and then moved to the Lonsdale location where she retired from. Upon retirement, Ursula and her husband bought a motorhome and headed South to Mexico for the winters like many retirees do. There, she found her soul. She loved being in Mexico with the people, the culture, the music and all the new friends that she made there. Her fondest memories were of her time spent there.
When she was no longer able to travel, she spent most of her time tending to her second joy, her garden (and her resident hummingbird, Hector) and listening to Mariachi music. This pastime was shared with her daughters, Pamela and Patricia. It was such a special bonding time and memory that they will continue caring for her garden in her memory.
Please continue to watch over your children and grandchildren with love. We miss you and love you very much. Be happy and at peace, Mutti.
There will be no service but a celebration of life will be held later in Spring.
Rest in final peace, Mutti. We love you.
