Toy Lan devoted her life to her family, and instilled strong Chinese traditions and values.  There were always many dishes of food on the table, a pot of rice in the rice cooker and soup simmering on the stove for countless family dinners and gatherings.  She was a true matriarch at the heart of the Quon Family with her infectious laughter, generous spirit and loving energy.

Over the weekend, Toy Lan’s children Teresa (Richard), Stella (Albert), David (Madeleine), Shirley (Raymond); grandchildren Bernice (Ian), Aaron, Tiffany (Andrew), Jaime (Phil), Tim (Katrina), Alastair, Christina, Carson, Chantel; and great-grandchildren Sophia, Naomi, Isaiah and Quintin were able to visit and keep her company.  She peacefully passed away on November 15, 2020.  She is survived by her siblings Willie (Julie), Harry (Karen) and Helen.

A heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at Purdy Pavilion for their kindness and care for mom during the past five years.

A private burial will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  When circumstances permit, a celebration of life (‘on wei chaan’) will be planned by the family.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of mom to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
