Passed away on August 8, 2016 in Langley, B.C. at the age of 91. He is survived by his loving family and friends.
Tom was born in Kerrisdale on April 10, 1925. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Canadian Army where he served in Europe and was present on the beaches of Normandy.
Following the war he joined Scouts Canada where he was a member for over 65 years, receiving his Silver Acorn. He was a Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion receiving the Meritorious Service Medal. Tom was also a founding member of the Stoney Creek Environment Committee. As a result of this work, he was awarded Burnaby’s Citizen of the Year. Recently Tom was awarded the National Order of the Legion of Honor from France for his service to the people of France.
Although a quiet and unassuming man, he touched many different lives in many different ways. Dad will be dearly missed.
