It is with profound sadness that we announce our beloved Thomas Peter Rydén, of Burnaby, BC, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday October 14, 2023, at the age of 66 years, after a courageous battle with illness.
Tom was born on June 2, 1957, in Borlänge, Sweden. At the age of 14, his father and his uncle with their families moved to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After graduating from Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1982, Tom started his career as a surveyor in Edmonton. At the age of 30, he moved to Calgary for work as a project manager in the glazing industry and then later to Vancouver, BC, where his skills were in demand. After working in the glazing industry for over 33 years, Tom hung up his hat as the director of operations at the end of 2017. Tom did everything with excellence and honesty to the glory of God. He entrusted every step of his life to God and gave praise, honour and glory to God for all his success and achievements. When not working, Tom enjoyed biking, skiing, swimming, golfing, photographing, and playing with his dogs.
Tom is survived by his wife, Amy; sister, Lena Anderson; brother, Magnus (Brandi) Rydén; and many loving aunts, uncle, cousins, nephews, nieces and friends in Canada as well as in Sweden.
He was predeceased by his parents, Gus and Solveig Rydén; and his dogs, Sven and Kalle.
Tom will be forever missed and deeply loved by his family and friends. His memory will be forever carried in our hearts. We thank God for the hope of Heaven, knowing that we will see Tom again one day.
In lieu of flowers, it was Tom's wish that donations to be made to Vancouver Urban Ministries. https:// www.myvum.ca/donate/
