It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Teresa Braganza (née Lobo). Teresa passed away peacefully on June 20, 2024 at Richmond General Hospital. Born in Goa, India to Daniel and Mary Lobo, she was sister to Vivian, Sylvester and Joseph Lobo.
Teresa moved to Karachi, Pakistan in 1942 where she would meet John Frederick (Freddy) Braganza. They were married in 1960 and blessed with 4 children. The family immigrated to Quebec in 1969 where they lived in Lachine then Chateauguay for 50 years. They were active parishioners at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. In 2019, Teresa moved to British Columbia and was a parishioner at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Surrey. She is survived by her 4 children Nicolette (Ross), Louella (James), Marlene (Michael), John; grandchildren Brad (Natashia), Hailey (Kyle), Samantha (Kevin), Jack (Andrea), Nathan (Alexandra), Taylor, Nina and Jesse; and great grandsons Avery and Milo.
Teresa’s love for family and friends showed in the delicious meals she prepared on many occasions. Her remarkable memory for dates kept her busy writing cards, calling with well wishes or traveling to celebrations.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 6th , 2024 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Surrey, BC at 1:00pm. Prayers before Mass at 12:00pm (noon). Prayers and the Holy Mass will be livestreamed: https://www.legacystreaming.com/kearney/
