Tanis Matheson

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Tanis Matheson at the age of 84. 

Tanis touched the lives of all that knew her with her kindness, warmth, and generosity. She was the touchstone of her family, always there to lend a hand or provide sage advice. She enjoyed travel, music, gardening, and the time spent playing Bridge with her friends. Born in Kimberley BC, she grew up loving the outdoors. In 1958 she left to pursue a Science degree at UBC and ultimately chose to settle and raise her family in North Vancouver. We will always remember her for her amazing cooking and her ability to stay positive in any situation. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be lovingly remembered by her family - daughters Catherine (Paul), Gillian (Rob), and her grandchildren – Jack, Connor, Adam, Luke, Evan, and Megan.

A Celebration of Tanis’ life will occur at St. John’s Vancouver Church, 5350 Baillie Street, Vancouver on April 23, 2025. If you would like more information please email the family at tmatheson.col@gmail.com
