Susan M. Martin, who died Oct. 15, was an all-round artist. She painted, drew, sculpted, worked in clay and pursued photography, and after multiple sclerosis damaged her fine motor control, she put her camera on a tripod. Some of her work can be seen on the website MartinPrairies.com.
She was born in Calgary and with her husband, William Boei, also lived and worked in Toronto — where she earned a degree in fine arts —and Vancouver. She was 72 when an unexpected heart attack felled her on Oct. 15. She is being cremated, and there will not be an immediate memorial service.
