It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Steven Gerald Falsetto from heart failure on January 1, 2025 at the age of 61. His loss was unexpected and his wife, Darlene, and family are heartbroken.
Born on April 30, 1963 in Ottawa Ontario to Ortenzio (John) and Celina (nee Laverty), Steve was the eldest of three children and a role model to his siblings, Barbara and John.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Steve is survived by his beloved wife Darlene, with whom he created a loving home in Vancouver despite always hoping for a Stanley Cup win from the Senators.
Steve was a devoted and loving father. He will be missed by his three children, Laura, Zachary, Sara, and their mother Rebecca. Steve became a doting grandfather to Sara's two children Isabelle and Dominic who brought him great joy.
Steve had a deep passion for music and enjoyed many memorable concerts throughout his life, which spurred his extensive record collection. Steve loved to travel with Darlene to Maui and Las Vegas and to Disneyland with his children and grandchildren in tow.
Steve will always be remembered for his quick sense of humour, contagious laugh, kind heart and unconditional love for his family and friends. He was a beacon of comfort and the rock for Darlene and the family. His sudden passing has left a deep void where we are all left struggling to understand why he was taken so soon.
A small gathering will be held on January 14 at 2pm in Vancouver, BC at Darby's Pub. A larger service will be held on January 20 at 10am at the Holy Cross Church in Kemptville, ON, which will be followed by a gathering at Heritage Hall (Catered Affairs) Kemptville College, 820 Heritage Drive, Kemptville. Steve will be laid to rest at Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa, ON, alongside his beloved grandparents.
