It is with sadness that Shelagh’s many friends announce her passing due to complications from viral pneumonia. Shelagh was the only daughter of Cecil “Sid” and Daisy (Shine) O’Dwyer. Born in Vancouver, Shelagh graduated from The Convent of the Sacred Heart, “Point Grey” in 1938 and supported her school and school friends every day since her graduation. Shelagh worked for BC Electric/Hydro as an Administrative Assistant for over 35 years.  During her life, Shelagh was so generous with her time. Her volunteering and scrumptious cooking were endless. She also loved cruising. Shelagh and her friend Marjory Swann saw many parts of our wonderful world. Shelagh attended almost every Regional, National and World Conference with members of the Associated Alumnae of the Sacred Heart whom she loved. Many people still called Shelagh “Brown Owl” from her days as a Brownie Leader. Shelagh will also be remembered by The Girl Guides’ Trefoil Guild, The CWL of both Immaculate Conception and St. John the Apostle Parishes, St. Vincent’s Hospital Guild, her Varsity Ridge Bowling Team, Brock House and The ASK Friendship Centre which she loved in her latter years. Shelagh’s life was centered on her Love of Christ which was so evident in her lovely, gentle ways. Perhaps Micah 6:8 exemplifies best how Shelagh made her way to 92 years. “This is what the Lord asks of you, Only this... To act justly, To love tenderly, and To walk humbly with your God.”  Rest in Peace our Darling friend.
