It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Shau Hing on October 16, 2021.
Shau Hing was born on August 11, 1926 in Shekkei, Zhongshan, China. The youngest of nine children, she was educated in Zhongshan. One month after her wedding in 1947, she moved to Hong Kong with her late husband Chun Hung, where they started various businesses, including grocery store, restaurant and real estate. With her family, she immigrated to Canada in 1967 and settled in Vancouver.
In Vancouver, her family grew and flourished. Her strength and guidance helped her sons become respected professionals and community leaders. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember her love, kindness, and generosity. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Mourning her passing are children Thomas (Linda), Paul and Peter (Lorna); grandchildren Andrew (Lauren), David (Nina), Jason, Brendan (Jennifer), Anita (Graham), Steven (Jeannie) and Cecilia; great-grandchildren Rosalind, Madeline, Ronan, Riley, Emry, Charlie, Mia and Hannah; and her many relatives and friends around the world.
A heartful thank you to her wonderful family physician, Dr. Thomas Ho, who was always there when needed, and to the entire health care team at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital for their compassionate care and attention.
A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Noon at St. Francis Xavier Church (438 Great Northern Way, Vancouver, BC, Canada)
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Mount Saint Joseph Hospital – St. Paul’s Foundation donate.helpstpauls.com/goto/ShauHingWong
