Serafin “Pete” Conde de Jesus demonstrated the words of Sinatra throughout his lifetime.

In reflection of his accomplishments, Serafin truly did it his way.

Born on April 24, 1941 in Baguio City, Philippines; Serafin led an adventurous life. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture. His distinct ambition and rigour led him to achieve great heights within his career. Serafin worked several jobs concurrently with the objective of providing for his family. With determination, Serafin fulfilled his dream of becoming a world traveller as he led projects in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America.

The love for his family was abundant. In 1964, Serafin met his wife Elvessa “Elvie” while working for Shell in Roxas, Manilla. Married in 1966, they were united and blessed with four children. As a dedicated father, Serafin was self-motivated to provide his family with the best life. After years of travel, life in the Philippines and Nigeria, the de Jesus’ immigrated and were proud to call Canada home. He was a protector and mentor; he guided his children and grandchildren, instilling his own character of diligence within them. Despite any differences, Serafin exemplified the importance of unity and respecting one another. He was a consistent source of support and motivation, he always encouraged his family to love and laugh to life’s fullest potential.

Our beloved Serafin passed peacefully on February 16, 2021 at the age of 79 surrounded by the overwhelming love of his family. He is survived by his wife - Elvessa, children - Sophia, Sandra, Anthony (Rowena), Christopher, grandchildren - Natalie, Nathan, Kayden, sister - Corazon, nephew and nieces.

Serafin’s memory will live forever in our hearts. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend and confidant who was loved by many.

The celebration of Serafin’s life commences on March 1st with a private viewing at Kearney Funeral Service in Vancouver.

A family Mass will be held at Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Parish on March 2 at 4:00PM, which will be available to livestream at https://youtu.be/zZK5OSisINM .

Serafin will be laid to rest on March 3 at 11:30 in Ocean View Cemetery - Heaven’s Gates.
