It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tata, Savo (Sam, Sahag) Lazarian. Savo passed away peacefully at home in the early evening of December 9, 2019 surrounded by his family. Savo was born in Cacak, Yugoslavia, the third child of Selvina and Ghazaros Lazarian. He immigrated to Canada with his mother and two brothers in 1951. In 1964 he married Siranoush and had two daughters Alice and Madlene. In 2012, he welcomed his granddaughter, Nayri, into the world. She was the light of his life. In 1974, he established Canada Scaffold Supply Co Ltd, which celebrated its 45 years in August 2019. Savo has touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all. He will be fondly remembered as "Sam the Scaffold Man." In both the Serbian and Armenian Communities, he will be remembered for always giving new immigrants a job to help them start their new lives in Canada. Also in the Armenian Community he will be remembered for laying the foundation to the Church and Community Center that has welcomed families from near and far since 1983. Savo will always be remembered and cherished as the kind, helpful, generous and loving Tata. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. at St Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church in Richmond. The family kindly requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers, with proceeds to St Gregory Armenian Church in memory of Sahag "Tata" Lazarian.
