It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, Nonna, Bisnonna, sister, Zia and friend, Santa. Santa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones early April 4th, 2019. Santa was born in Sannicandro di Bari in September of 1933. She was the second oldest of nine brothers and sisters. She was close to all of her siblings and was blessed to have many nieces and nephews. Santa emigrated to Canada from Italy in 1957 to join her mother and brothers and sisters. She married (the late) Orazio Siciliano, they were married for 52 years. Together they had two children, Maria Lucia (the late Paul Harstone) and Leopold William. She had three grandchildren, Lauren (Chad), Kristofer and Juliana and two great-grandsons Jack and Linden. She had a huge family and was loved deeply by everyone.

Santa was a selfless, happy, generous and beautiful woman. She did everything and anything for anyone, her heart was so big. She was the strongest, hardest working woman and always put others before herself. She loved her grandchildren so much and was very proud of everything they did. They loved her more than anything and will forever cherish all the special memories that they had with her. She loved to cook and always made sure that anyone who visited left full of focaccia, ravioli, panzerroti and biscotti. She loved to garden, knit, play cards, do word searches and go out to play bingo. She loved going to the casino with friends. She also loved to travel and spent a lot of time in Mexico. Everyone who had the privilege of meeting Santa will miss her dearly, she will be forever in our hearts.

There will be a mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish on Friday April 12th at 12:00 pm followed by an internment at Ocean View Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
