Ruth passed away peacefully on April 15, 2017 at the Inglewood Care Centre in West Vancouver at the age of 98.

Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband, William Ignatius, in 1978 and her beloved daughter, Arleigh May, in 2005.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her children, William John, Thomas Ralph (Betsy), John Leo (Alexandra) and Michael Anthony (Rose-Marie); her grandchildren, Patrick (Corinne), Catherine (Peter), Sarah (Matthew), David (Danielle), Rebecca (Daniel), Meghan (David), Michael, Cameron and James; and her great grandchildren, Brigitte, Felix, Gilbert, Edith, Charlotte, Lucia, Philip, Magdalena, Isaac, Cadence, Amy, Vivian, Eloise, Joel, Sam and Ana.

Ruth was a dutiful wife, a loving and caring mother, a long-time member of the Catholic Womens League and a wonderfully compassionate lady who provided palliative care for her husband that extended into daily visits in hospital until his death. Her compassion continued into her seventies as a volunteer at the St. Marguerite d'Youville Centre.

The Fletcher Family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Inglewood Care Centre for the expert care and compassion they have shown to Ruth and our family over the years, and most especially in the last few weeks of her life.
