On Saturday, April 18, 2020, Rose Jones passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Rose was born on May 10, 1934, to Rita and George Pashniak in Vegreville, Alberta. The first years of her life were spent on the farm where she played with the kittens, helped in the garden, and loved working along side her beloved mother.
At 10 years old, she moved to Kamloops, BC with her mom. Rose called Kamloops her home for the next 70 years. She was married and had three daughters.
She spent her early working years as a hairdresser and retired from Royal Inland Hospital in 1999. She moved to New Westminster in 2015 to be closer to family.
Rose was known for wonderful cookies, her thrifty nature and ability to do just about anything. She was an avid gardener, sewed clothes for herself and her girls; she was even known to fix her car muffler with bubble gum! She was a voracious reader.
Rose had the ability to befriend many and was known for her sage words, motherly advice and her willingness to help. She always had a ‘can do’ attitude and never complained despite her circumstances.
Being a mother was the role she cherished the most. She loved her girls and spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible. She is predeceased by her mother Rita Ludwik and her father George Pashniak. She leaves behind her three loving daughters Cindy Jones, Jennifer (Pam) Jones and Heather (Henry) Hnatiak. As well as her grandchildren Alexis Hnatiak and Jacob Hnatiak.
Rose will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.
At this time no Memorial or Funeral Services are planned. She will be interned at the Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops, BC at a later date.
