The worldwide circle of friends and family of Robyn Adele Inman (August 18, 1950) are celebrating her life and mourning her departure January 26. Robyn was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and devoted loving partner for over 50 years to her surviving husband, Boba.
Schooled in West Vancouver, Crofton House Vancouver, UBC and University of Grenoble France. She maintained close friends from each and all of these levels of learning, organizing and holding reunions for many years for her dearest classmates.
She possessed a big heart and empathy for many friends she met and maintained around the world to the end.
An early passion for languages was born of travel and a curiosity of other countries, cultures and people that created a perfect avocation and career.
Owner and founder of the Pacific Language Institute (1988 -2008), Robyn and Boba built schools in Vancouver and Toronto. P.L.I. grew to a thriving business that immersed many thousands of international students in the English language.
Robyn valued education and teaching, was proficient in both, and traveled around the globe many times to draw a rich diversity of young minds.
Other interests were always animals and nature; from her pet monkey in high school to the wild birds and visitors to their gardens in North America, Europe, and Asia, as they joyfully built or restored homes for decades. She found great joy in planning and executing new gardens to articulate her visions.
Facing numerous medical challenges later in life, Robyn faced them with characteristic strength and positivity. She regrets only the loss of time to do more of the things she loved and continue her generous impact on the next generation of nieces and nephews.
All who knew her benefited from her compassion, loyalty, and love. All will hold her in our hearts forever.
