Robert Edwin Eades born in Vancouver on July 30, 1937 and died suddenly in Vancouver December 6, 2022, at age 85. Predeceased by his wife Judith (Small) and his brother Christopher. He leaves his present wife Terry Norman Eades and family, his sister Gillian Eades Telford her children and their spouses, his children Bruce (Christina), Duncan (Karen), Shawn, and Leanne (David), his grandchildren Jesse, Victoria, Kaia, Georgia, Emily, Olivia, Poppy and great-grandchild Oliver.

Robert, known as Bob to his friends, was very involved in numerous organizations and through these multiple associations will be missed by many people. He was an exemplar of service to his community. He was generous and ethical, loved cars and motorcycles, and was an enthusiastic intrepid traveler. He was a loyal friend to his Lord Byng high school class and a devoted member of Psi Upsilon fraternity at UBC from where he received a law degree (’62). He practiced law mostly as a sole practitioner for over 40 years using a holistic approach and he was affiliated with the Canadian Bar, Law Foundation, and various committees and branches of the Law society including Ethical Leadership and as well he taught article students. He was a member of Royal Vancouver Yacht Club for 70 years, and volunteered acting as honorary council to the RVYC, including more than a decade on the Hood Point Society Board.  He was involved in numerous campaigns for the Progressive Conservatives, assisting in Context Training as well as attending his Wednesday lunch group, Vancouver AM, West Coast Board Sailing Club, Fraser Academy Board, Sea Festival committees, Expo committees, and False Creek Yacht Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 30, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the main dining room at RVYC. In lieu of flowers, please support the BC Cancer Society Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
