VANCOUVER, BC CANADA- Robert (Bob) Boehm, 86, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 7, 2012, from an unexpected complication related to an existing health condition.
Creating a loving family was the driving force in Bob’s life, guided by his deep religious faith. He was happiest when his family was together sharing life events (reunions, anniversaries, holidays, cruises). He had a dry sense of humor, was a voracious reader, and had many hobbies including traveling, sailing and wine making.
Bob was born November 17, 1925 in Buffalo New York. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara (Bobbie) nee Griffith; his sister Marion McWilliams and Virginia Kasper; seven children: Gretchen, Connie, Fritz, Paula, Kurt, Gerry, Liesl and their spouses; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.
Bob was an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry and Cornell and Colgate Universities prior to receiving his Ph.D. from the Institute of Paper Chemistry. His professional career of 38 years included positions with Mead Corporation (Ohio, Massachusetts & Wisconsin), American Can (Wisconsin & Connecticut), and H.A. Simons International (British Columbia).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday October 13th at 11:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 1430 West 38th Avenue, Vancouver BC. Reception to follow the service at Cartier Hall, 1357 West 38th Avenue. Burial services will be held at St. Margaret Cemetery in Oakhill Cemetery, Neenah, Wisconsin.
