Passed away peacefully on March 23, 2016 at age 77. He was at Vancouver General Hospital in B.C. with family by his side.
Father, grandpa, uncle, brother, husband, friend, companion, dog-lover, artist, ad-guy, painter, sculptor, antique collector, golfer, cottage builder, realtor, Brit, Canadian-Brit, an unbelievably kind and generous soul! Richard will be missed by all for his compassion and love to everyone around him. We admire him for his brave fight with cancer and wish him peace now. He will be forever in our hearts.
Richard is survived by his children, Michelle, Tom, Jefferson, and Mark; his grandson Hudson; former wives Pamela and Judi; many other relatives and friends in Toronto, Vancouver, the UK and the US; and his lovely Collie dog, Sam.
Richard’s wishes were to celebrate his life with the scattering of his ashes at the cottage in Ontario, in the gardens of Nunthorpe, UK, and in the ocean at Vancouver’s Kitsilano Beach. With this in mind, and in lieu of flowers and a formal service, please make donations in his honour to continue Richard’s support of the Canadian Cancer Society www.cancer.ca or to the BC SPCA (the BC society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) www.spca.bc.ca/support.
