Richard (Dick) Adams passed peacefully in Cloverdale, B.C. on August 15th, 2021, at the age of 84.
Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Adams of Surrey; daughter Maureen Wilson of North Vancouver; sons Darcy Adams (and Lyn Stone) and Darryn Adams of Maple Ridge, grandchildren Katie and John Wilson.
Richard was born in Edmonton, Alberta to John and Alma Adams. Richard attended school in Kitscoty, Alberta and then worked the family farm with his parents, his brother Edward Adams, and sister Marion Peschke. He married Patricia Anderson on June 18, 1957, in Lloydminster Saskatchewan. Richard and Patricia moved the family to Calgary, Alberta in 1963 where he began his career with Canada Safeway. The family lived in the SW of the city until 1984 when Richard accepted a promotion to district manager in Victoria, B.C. This was soon followed by a transfer to Vancouver where Richard and Patricia resided in Surrey until his retirement from Safeway.
Richard took up golf seriously once retired and enjoyed the many days he spent on the course with his sons and buddies. He and Patricia made many friendships with other members that continue to last. He also was able to meet regularly with his Safeway buddies to enjoy a round or two. Golf was his haven away from the daily work routine and he loved it. Richard and Patricia were also regular members of Cloverdale Baptist church until failing health did not allow them to attend further.
A funeral is scheduled for September 3rd, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Cloverdale Baptist Church (18685 64 Ave, Surrey, B.C.). A reception will not be planned due to current health concerns. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Zion Park Manor for providing care for their father and other residents that was above and beyond expectations. You will never be forgotten.
