Gone too soon, much too soon
Born in Comox, BC; passed away at VGH, with his wife holding his hand. Richard is deeply missed by his loving family, wife Chris, mother Helen, sister Bev (Ken), nephew Rob (Connie) and fondly remembered by other relatives and friends. He is predeceased by his father (Cecil) and in-laws Brian and Jenny. Richard was a writer, indeed a master wordsmith, photographer, gardener, great cook and loving husband. Richard and Chris met in the Debating Society at UBC (Agriculture, Political Science), married young, grew up together and shared over 30 precious years, including five trips to Africa. His loss is shredding her heart. He was an articulate, well-read, witty, smart, honorable and kind man, interested in and interesting on almost everything. He valued loyalty, responsibility, respect for self and others, peace, order and good government. Modus vivendi: be good to others; do no harm. Rest in peace, sweetheart, and dream of giraffes. Lala salama, ndogo twiga (sleep in peace, little giraffe). A Celebration of Life Open House is planned for April 27, 2013.
