Born December 5, 1938, in Manchester, England, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2021 at Langley Memorial Hospital in Langley B.C. Canada.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joan, children Rod (Kaori) and Kyle (Danielle) and grandchildren, Mya and Nicholas. He is predeceased by his mother Mabel, father James, sister Maureen (Derek) and survived by his brother Norman (Mena) sister Christine (Jim); and many nephews and nieces.
After enjoying his early years in his home country of England where he lived in the cities of Manchester and Stafford and worked for English Electric, he sought change. Having visited the Montreal Expo ‘67 and taken part in a life changing road trip, he foresaw better opportunities overseas and decided to start his career and family life in his newly embraced country of Canada in 1968. Peter became a successful and devoted civil engineer, growing his career between CAE Inc. and ZCL Composites, until his retirement. He met the love of his life, Joan in 1969 and married 1 year later. They enjoyed 51 happy years building a stable and loving family, through all life's ups and downs with not a few moves to cities such as St. Albert / Beaumont (Alberta), Guelph / Belleville (Ontario), Qualicum Beach / Langley (BC).
Peter was a kind, approachable, generous, quiet man that could easily have a room erupt in laughter with his quick wit and infectious humor. Some of his life's pleasures included watching his favourite football (soccer) team Manchester United, playing cricket, Manchester United, singing and playing the guitar, Manchester United, long nature walks, Manchester United, spending time with his family & friends and of course, Manchester United.
Peter also loved Manchester United.
Sadly, Peter succumbed to his battle with dementia. We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the extremely kind staff at Langley Memorial Hospital. Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held in his honour. For consideration, in lieu of flowers, we welcome donations in his name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada: https://alzheimer.ca/ ...or as Peter would have preferred, to the Manchester United Football Club.
