Peter Donald Collinson, 89, of Cloverdale, British Columbia, passed into eternity on January 11, 2025 at the Czorny Alzheimer Centre, where he had lived for the past 8 years.
He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Alice and wife Marjorie.
Peter is survived by his daughters Sharon (Andreas), Linda, Patricia (Michael) and Diane, as well as his grandchildren Kevin, Michael, Sebastian, Logan, Ava and Vanessa and great grandchildren Damien and Darius.
In the Canadian Air Force dad became an aircraft maintenance engineer and was stationed in both Greenland and Langdon in England. After his time in the military, he went on to work over 47 years in this field for various private and commercial companies in Canada, Turkey and Libya.
Dad had a keen sense of humour and enjoyed reading, tinkering in the garage and Sunday drives. We have great memories of him playing with us when we were young, for example tobogganing, building forts and icing backyard skating rinks he had shoveled for us complete with nighttime lighting. His nickname was ‘Popsicle Pete’, because he would delight us and our friends by going to the corner store and buying treats for all the kids on the block. We look forward to our reunion with him again one day in Heaven.
Please pray for the repose of his soul.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in Peace. Amen
