Perlita Lozares Pascual, a care aide and long time resident of the Metro Vancouver area, passed on November 10, 2021 at the age of 60. She lost her battle fighting a type of liver cancer found in the bile duct called cholangiocarcinoma. Perlita is survived by her mother, Ludiviñia Lozares (née Ambata); her husband, Ferdinand Pascual; her five sons, Louis Lozares, Jacob Pascual, Jeremiah Pascual, Joshua Pascual and Jasper Pascual; her younger siblings, Sally Torrenueva (née Lozares), Roni Lozares, Olan Lozares, Jerry Lozares and Ernie Lozares. Lastly, she is predeceased by her father, Godofredo Lozares. Perlita was born in the town of Amadeo, Cavite, Philippines on April 2, 1961 to Godofredo Lozares and Ludiviñia Ambata. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 1983 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Before residing in Canada and settling in as a care aide, she worked as a civil engineer in the Philippines working on projects across the country from roads and bridges in the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan to the MRT Line 2 in Metro Manila. Perlita first met Ferdinand in Winnipeg, Manitoba and on November 10, 1992 they married. She welcomed Louis on January 12, 1993 and on July 25, 1996, the couple welcomed triplets Jacob, Jeremiah and Joshua, lastly on June 25, 1998 their youngest boy Jasper was born. Perlita was a devoted mother and was viewed by many as an example in this regard. She enjoyed spending time with her boys and cooking for such a big family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Open casket viewing of the deceased will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by her celebration of life / Funeral Mass scheduled later at 3:00 p.m. on Friday November 19, 2021. Location of proceedings will be held at the St. Mary’s Parish on 5251 Joyce Street, Vancouver, BC V5R 4G8. Father Gabriel will preside over Mass. Health & Safety Protocols Required use of masks at all times and social distancing must be practiced.
