Patrick Bernard Crean, born August 14, 1926, London England, passed away peacefully following a brief illness, Friday July 8, 2011, in his 85th year. Survived by his loving wife, Wendy McFeely, 2 sons, Tom (Jo-Ann) and Michael; 8 grandchildren, Ryan (Jen), Christie (Jake) Power, Trevor, Kelly-Ann, Catherine, Patrick, Sean and Caitlin; great grandson, Owen Power. Also step family, Loraine Wright, Brian (Maryse) Wright and great granddaughters Maude, Edith and Beatrice.  Patrick received his doctorate in Physical Oceanography from the University of Liverpool and worked for 30 years in oceanographic research for the Canadian government. In his retirement he sailed, traveled and continued to absorb the writings of Canadian philosopher and theologian Bernard Lonergan who entered his life in 1958, concentrating on moving towards the publication of the fruit of the decades of his personal studies in Lonergan. Prayers Wednesday, July 13th 7 pm, St. Mark’s Chapel, UBC; where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 14th 10 am. Interment, Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver.
