It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Lalley, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is predeceased by her parents William and Sarah Shields and her brother William Shields. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Phil, her sister Margaret Goodwin, children; Patricia (Kevin), Carol (Michael), Philip (Jane), Brian, Morag and David (Jen), grandchildren; Richard(Kristina), Melanie(Paul), Derek(Jaclyn), Christopher (Taaira), Alison(Brad), Fiona, Kelsi(D’arcy), Dana(Eric), Ian, Scott, Sarah, Stephen, Laura, Madyson and Paisley and great-grandchildren; Kayla, Nathan, Megan and Amy, and many close friends.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Pat moved to Canada with her husband Phil and their children in 1967. They were welcomed to Powell River by a close group of Scottish friends who became a second family. Moving to the lower mainland in 1975, she enjoyed a full active life playing badminton, Scottish country and Old time dancing and was an active member of St Nicholas Catholic Church. She was loved for her kind personality and enthusiasm for life no matter what obstacles she faced.
She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives were enriched by her devotion to her faith, family and friends.
Special thanks to the kind nurses and doctors who cared for her throughout these last months as she fought her brave battle.
Prayers will be offered from St. Nicholas Catholic Church 20675 87 Avenue, Langley on Tuesday, February 2nd at 7pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated there on Wednesday, February 3rd preceded by a eulogy at 10:30am.
Reception to follow at the Fort Community Hall - 9167 Glover Road, Fort Langley.
