Age 84, died February 11th after a long struggle with cancer. Born the youngest of 6 children, Pat, or Patsy as she was known in the family, grew up in Coquitlam. Moving to New Westminster in 1950, she attended Trapp Tech. After finishing school, she began a nearly 40-year career with Woodward’s Department Store, first in New West before transferring to the newly opened Guildford Mall store in 1969. Our beloved Aunty Pat will be remembered for her warm, kind personality, her love of animals, glamorous style, driving trips and spending her younger years at White Rock. A point of pride was her beautiful Queens Park home that she shared with her sisters. Christmas saw her spend many hours decorating to the sound of Henry Mancini.
Predeceased by her parents, Richard and Lily; her brother, Bill; sisters Joyce and Margaret, she will be sadly missed by her eldest sister Vera, brother Les (Audrey), numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and their families. The family would like to thank niece Wendy Whiting for all her care over the years. Special thanks to Matthew, Donna and staff at the uptown White Spot where Pat went almost daily; neighbors Luna and Ivy and Melville Hospice. May she be happily driving off into the sunset in her old blue MG, maybe stopping at the beach on the way. No service by request.
