Oksana Kuzan passed away prayerfully and peacefully on June 7, 2024, at Fort Langley Seniors Community, in the company of loving family and caregivers.

Oksana was born in Bukovyna, Ukraine, and later, as a refugee from Russian aggression, grew up in Germany. There, she met the love of her life, Julian (dec. 1974.) In 1948, they married and moved to Toronto to start a new life in the safe harbour that was Canada. Mere weeks before her 80th birthday, intrepid Oksana made a sudden decision to uproot yet again, moving across the country to live with daughter Lydia in Langley, where she enjoyed 18 years of a quiet, happy life.

Oksana was the beloved mother of Roman (dec. + Mary), and Lydia (+ Alberto Gennai); grandmother of Katie (Kyle), Julie (Dane), and Alex (Jinny). Oksana is also mourned by nieces and nephews Paul, Oxana, Lou, Walter, George, Irene, and others.

Oksana possessed an indomitable spirit right to the end, regularly stirred those around her to joy and laughter, and fearlessly accomplished much during her long and eventful life.

A funeral liturgy will be held at 9:30 on June 21, 2024, at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, New Westminster.
