NASAR, Nicholas (Nick) passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2020, with his wife Eleanor at his side in Vancouver, BC at the age of 92.

Nick was very smart. He skipped two grades at school, and spoke 5 languages. As a young man he immigrated to Canada. He was a skilled auto bodyman and then he saw an opportunity and joined ICBC where he retired after 18 years.

Nick was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest when he was out of the city camping, hunting and fishing. He was an excellent marksman and a lifetime member of the Barnet Rifle Club. He was also a great hockey fan and never missed Hockey Night in Canada.

One of the greatest joys in his life was being reconnected with dear, old schoolmates from Europe. It was a sudden doubling of his “family” that started a decade of intercontinental travel and glorious celebrations with the Stanke, Kalke and Juech clans.

He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor, two sons Danny (Ramona) and John Paul, and three daughters Sue (Dave), Katherine (Norm) and Christine (John). ). A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 3:00pm at Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel in New Westminster.
