Since her diagnosis of "Acute Myloid Leukemia" on January 13th, 2010, her family witnessed a steady rapid decline in her health. It is hard to believe that just this last August, at the age of 83, she was "Zip Lining" with them in Costa Rica, while there for her grandson's wedding. She showed a tremendous strength and determination to do what she had always been able to do despite her encumbrances... that coupled with a real sense of inner peace and contentment that only God could give her. She was a deeply spiritual woman whose life was devoted to her faith and reaching out to those in need. She cherished her family and friends and they were given a special grace to be able to spend this precious time with her before her death and say their goodbyes. God also gave her the grace and a tremendous faith to be able to embrace his plan for her and she was able to talk openly about that. Naomi passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of Saturday March 20th, and will be deeply missed by all her family, friends and neighbours. She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Catherine and Theresa, her Son-in-Law Fernando and four grandchildren James, Fernando, Daniel and Melissa. Prayers will be held for her on Monday March 29th, 2010 at 7pm at Immaculate Conception Church , 3776 West 28th Avenue, in Vancouver. The Funeral will be held at 11am, March 30th, at Immaculate Conception Church, with a Reception to follow.
