It is with great sadness that Lynda, Steve, and Dave inform you that Moe has passed away from cancer. Also left behind to grieve Papa Moe/Opa are Steve’s wife Heather and their son, Mac, and Dave’s sons, Yannek and Enno. We are happy that Moe’s brothers, Murray (Donna), Mike (Jane) and Harold (Sharon) had the opportunity to spend quality time visiting with him in his final weeks. Moe also leaves behind one niece and four nephews and their young families. Thanks to Moe's many friends, and golf and business buddies for their hospice visits, emails, texts, phone calls and uplifting stories of a life well spent. Many thanks also to Roger Kocheff and Fred Douglas for their long-lasting friendships with Moe.
Moe enjoyed a good life of skiing, golfing, and travelling and cruising through Europe on several occasions with Lynda and friends/family, oftentimes with brief but energetic appearances from Yo.
Moe spent nearly 50 years in the mining industry, most notably with Polycorp Ltd whom he worked with from 1996 until his “semi”-retirement in 2015. Widely regarded as a legend within the BC mining community, he will be missed by all who knew him. The loss of our beloved Yo last November from Melanoma made it so much harder for Moe to deal with his own health issues, but he still enjoyed family get togethers, his grandsons’ sports events, dinners with friends and driving his red corvette. Late dinner times, iPhone Apps and the Blue Jays were sources of never-ending frustration.
We would like to thank the doctors, dedicated nurses, aides and volunteers at Peace Arch Hospital and Melville Place Hospice for their kindness and humour when caring for Moe and our family.
Donations can be made in Moe’s name to Melville Place Hospice, 15575 16A Ave. Surrey BC V4A OC7, (778) 545-6202.
