Moe passed away peacefully on February 7th, 2019 at age 87 from Parkinson’s disease. Moe was born on September 26th, 1931 in Quezon Province in the Philippines. He met his wife, Toni, in 1956 while both were students at the University of Southern California. After graduation, they repatriated to the Philippines, married in 1958, and had 3 daughters. In 1965, the couple immigrated to Canada with their young family. Moe was very intelligent and academically accomplished, earning three law degrees, the first from the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, the second from The University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and the third from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He was charismatic, articulate, and witty with a robust sense of humour. Among his passions were running his successful insurance business, travelling, and lifelong learning. Moe was most proud of being a loving and attentive husband, father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by Toni, their daughters Helena (Steve), Katrina (Chris), Susana (Robert) and 7 grandchildren: Victoria, Joshua, Jackie, Sarah, Cole, Patrick, and Elizabeth. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Guardian Angel Parish, 1161 Broughton Street, Vancouver, V6G 2B3, on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11:00 am. The family expresses deepest thanks to the staff at Yaletown House Non-Profit Residential Care Facility in Vancouver. They were immeasurably kind and competent while providing palliative care for Moe and supporting his loved ones.
