Minerva (Minette) Piguierda Pescadera passed away peacefully with her nephew by her side on April 23rd, 2020 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 77.

She was born in Pototan, Iloilo Philippines on November 19, 1943 to Jovito Pescadera & Perpetua Piguierda. Minette attended CPU for her Pre - Nursing course and took her Nursing Internship at Virgen Milagrosa Hospital where she graduated in 1968. She then followed her sister Becky to the USA where she practiced in Chicago for two years. Returning to the Philippines, she practiced in Manila attaining Head Nurse status. In 1977, she came to Canada to be with Becky and Ray to help with caring for her nephews, Darcy and Derek. In a short time, she re-entered the nursing profession moving to her apartment in Vancouver. She practiced nursing until age 68. Minette was a very happy and fun loving lady. She took up ball room dancing and travelled the world extensively going on numerous cruises and excursions with close friends & family. Minette was a very generous person and cared deeply about helping others. She had a great circle of caring friends and enjoyed many church and social activities with them. Minette was a very loving Auntie to Darcy and Derek and their children here and had an extensive family in the Philippines. She was predeceased by brothers Julian and Napoleon and sister Rebecca. Her sister, Thelma survives her in the Philippines.

Minette was one of a kind. Her memory will be cherished by many and she will be remembered for her kind, gentle and creative soul.
