Michelantonio "Michele" Colombo died peacefully in Eagle Ridge Hospital on October 23, 2021, in Port Moody, B.C. at the age of 90.

Michele is survived by his wife, Maria; daughter Lucia Bevacqua; grandchildren Giovanni (Megan) Bevacqua, Angela (Anthony) Pezzolla, Carina (Curtis) Chartier, and brother Mario (Maria), 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by parents Giuseppe and Maria-Libera, brothers Giovanni, Pasquale, Antonio, and sister Lina.

Michele was born on May 2, 1931, in Bonefro Campobasso, Italy to Giuseppe and Maria Libera. He married his wife Maria after a short courtship, in 1955 and welcomed their daughter Lucia the following year.  The family was one of many who immigrated to Canada in the 50’s and in 1958 came to Canada settling in Vancouver. Michele began working for Terminal City in 1960 as a foundry worker feeding metal into a blast furnace to turn into molten metal and retired in 1995.

Michele loved to ride his bike and could often be seen travelling up to 10 km on bike even in his later years. He was a generous individual who loved spending time with family and friends, talking and reminiscing and who was passionate about dancing and would always be the first on the dance floor at parties and last to stop.

A funeral is scheduled for 11am November 3 at St Francis de Sales Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Cancer Research.  Family would like to thank caregivers/hospital staff/etc. at Eagle Ridge Hospital for their care.
