It is with great sadness that we announce Mike’s passing.
After a long battle he slipped away peacefully with Iona, his wife and soul mate of 26 years, at his side.
He also leaves behind his brother Kenneth Evans (Kerry and Stephen) in England, brother-in-law John Corrie (Helen, David/Nina and Johnny, Marlo/Karl and Parker, Georgia,Britain) in B.C. and sister-in-law Diane Geraghty (Lincoln/Becky) in England and many friends.

Large in stature and large in life Mike enlightened our world. We will miss him forever.
Mike was an avid reader and enjoyed Rudyard Kipling. This excerpt is from "IF" which was a favourite and fits Mike to a tee.

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs.. if you can fill the unforgiving minute with sixty seconds' worth of distance run..Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And which is more - you'll be a Man, my son !
Rudyard Kipling

We would like to thank our G.P., Dr. B. Jean Clarke and Dr. Gallagher and the nursing staff at St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit for making Mike’s last days dignified and comfortable and for the support you gave to the family.

A celebration of Mike’s life will take place at a later date.
