Webster, Matthew Clark, With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Matthew Webster on March 15, 2008, 24 years, the beloved son of Kathy Webster of Dawson City, and Arthur Webster of Whitehorse, Yukon. Matt is mourned and will be greatly missed by his large extended family and his many friends in Dawson City, Vancouver, Toronto, and elsewhere across Canada. Predeceased by his maternal grandparents Eleanor and Frank Lane of Burnaby, he is survived by his paternal grandparents Arthur and Mary Webster of Toronto, his sisters Arbor and Lauren of Whitehorse, his aunts and uncles Jim and Mary Ann Lane of Coquitlam, Marion Lane and Bill Irvine of Toronto, Mary and Michael Chrus of Toronto, and his adoring cousins and cousins-in-law: Jeffrey, Laura, Tanya, James, Chris, Laura, Russell, Michael, Laura, Matthew, Marisa, Suzanne, Ben, Jonquille, Carl, and Sara. Matt will also be particularly missed by his godmother“aunt” Shirley Pennell and by Bonnie and Chuck Barber of Dawson City. Matt was enthustiastic, generous, upbeat, ever-optimistic, and a friend to all who knew him. A memorial service will take place Monday, March 24 at 2:00 pm at East Burnaby United Church, 7772 Graham Avenue, between Canada Way and 6th Street, one block south of 16th Avenue, in East Burnaby. The funeral service will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Dawson City on Saturday, March 29, at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to The Yukon Foundation, P.O. box 31622, Whitehorse, Yukon Y1A 6L2 for a Matthew Webster Scholarship for study in the trades.
