Mary Louise Chan of Vancouver passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 30th, 2017. A beloved mother and grandmother, sister and aunt, she was predeceased by her devoted husband Desmond and is lovingly survived by her three sons, Christopher (Pamela), Michael (Donna) and Ken (Peggy), and her grandchildren Wesley, Claire, Alexander, Lauren, Brendan, and Aaron.
Originally from Hong Kong, Mary Louise graduated from Maryknoll Convent School, and obtained her BA (Hons) from the University of Hong Kong, and later obtained a Masters degree from the UBC School of Social Work. She began her career in teaching and shortly thereafter cherished the opportunity to work with her family at the Allied Holdings Group.
Mary Louise lived a life of being generous to others, and is best known for her musical and culinary talents, enjoyment of mahjong, and selfless devotion to family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Prayers will be offered at 7:00PM, Wednesday, September 13th, 2017, and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM, Thursday, September 14th, 2017, both at St. John the Apostle Parish, 5457 Trafalgar St., Vancouver.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation - Cancer Centre, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation- BC & Yukon, in memory of Mary Louise Chan.
