Mary Larkin, age 80, passed away peacefully at the St. Michaels Centre Hospice in Burnaby, BC, on Thursday, September 14, 2023.
Mary was born in Dundee, Scotland, where she grew up and pursued her love of nursing. She was fortunate to work as a registered nurse in various European cities before getting married and moving to Canada where she started a family and continued her nursing at the University of Ottawa's Heart Institute.
Retirement brought Mary to British Columbia, where she enjoyed being close to family and friends.
Mary loved her children & grandchildren dearly, and she was thrilled to be surrounded by those who loved and cherished her so much.
Mary will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her loving family and close friends. Her immediate family members are sons, Kevin Larkin (Eva) and Iain Larkin (Nancy); daughter, Tracy Larkin; grandchildren, Aidyn, Leland, Connor, Patrick, and Reagan.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Parkinson Society of British Columbia.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Kearney Funeral Services, Columbia-Bowell Chapel, located at 219 - 6th Street, New Westminster from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
Guests are invited to wear a splash of purple or hot pink, Mary's favorite colours.
