The family of Mary C. Power, of New Westminster, wishes to announce her passing on August 10, 2021 after a brief illness.
Mary was born in Bathurst, NB on July 8, 1923. She was the oldest of seven children born to Fred and Edna Elhatton.
After marriage to Ray Power in 1949, she worked as a legal secretary until settling down to start a family.
In 1963, the family moved to Edmonton and she remained there until moving to New Westminster as a widow in 1989.
She lived in New Westminster for the last 32 years and during that time was an active member of St Peter’s Parish.
Mum was known for her generosity, strong faith and love of a glass of good white wine.
She is survived by daughters Kathy of Surrey, Susan (Doug) of West Vancouver, and son Kevin of Sherwood Park. She is also missed by seven grandchildren: Ben, Katie, Erin, Stephanie, Sarah, Shannon and Kyna.
She was predeceased by her husband Ray (1988) and her son Ian (2010).
A memorial Mass will be held at Noon on September 9, 2021 at St. Peter’s Parish in New Westminster, BC.
