Born Sydney, Australia September 8, 1972. Passed away Vancouver, Canada August 22, 2020. Martin was the oldest of 11 siblings, 101 first cousins and 500 second-cousins and counting. Everyone knew him as 'The Phantom' and, in Australia, as 'Shark-Bait.' Martin was one of the most gentlest human beings that God has put on this earth, he was so gentle that even an ant would be preserved. He excelled in tennis (going to The Nationals in his age-group), skiing (as he had skied many of the great slopes of the world), surfing (that was in his blood--being Australian) and also rock-climbing as he adored God's nature.
His daughter Maggie, 13, is following in his footsteps as a wonderful human being in all areas of life and, in particular, her Catholic faith as she was baptized at 12 on her own election. She will certainly miss her father who was very close to her; she is very blessed to have a good mother, Cathy, and of course all the relations above.
Martin excelled in the building trade for over 25 years and will certainly be missed by all.
He was especially close to his mother, Lesley, and they would have many a morning discussing what life was all about. Martin was a very spiritual young man, and his life was ruled by these aspects.
All his siblings, nieces and nephews (35 at last count) and all his first- and second-cousins together with, logically, his parents, daughter and wife will miss him and his great sense of love of God's creation.
Every blessing Mate-we will all see you at some time in the future.
